07/01/2022 Part-Time EMT: We have several current EMT's advancing to Paramedic's in the next several months and would like to start the hiring and orientation process for new EMT's.
The EMT is tasked to effectively triage patient's in their care independently and with a paramedic then, determine the appropriate course of treatment and provide emergency care until the patient can be transferred to a higher level of care. LIke any employee with Keener Township Ambulance Service, the EMT must advocate for all patients, maintain patient confidentiality and work professionally with our community, patient's and other emergency agencies as well as work cohesively with other employees of Keener Township EMS. The EMT works closely with other staff members in all aspects of patient care, training and station living. The EMS is directly reportable to the EMS Director as well as the Trustee and Medical Director/Overseeing Hospital.

Requirments:
All Prospective Employees: All prospective employees most possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As well as posses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. All prospective employees must complete a pre-employment background screening.
Drivers: To be considered for employment as a driver - the prospective employee must live in our coverage area, The prospective driver should have a strong familiarity with our coverage area as well as locations of local hospitals. Driver's are used on an "on call" basis to support our on duty ambulance and aid in staffing an on call night time ambulance. Drivers will work with an EMT-Basic.
EMT-Basics: To be considered for employment as an EMT-B - the prospective employee must have a valid Indiana EMT-B certificate. The prospective EMT- B employee must be able to affiliate with our current medical director/EMS system (Franciscan Health Crown Point).
Paramedics: To be considered for employment as a Paramedic - the prospective employee must have a valid Indiana Paramedic License and possess valid certificates in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support. The prospective paramedic must be able to affiliate with our current medical director/EMS system (Franciscan Health Crown Point).
